Photo Stream was the one we found ourselves using a lot, especially with the higher-res cameras on today's iDevices. iPhoto 11 is the latest version of Apples popular photo manipulation and sharing app.

IPhoto 11 is an update of a popular app and we liked the changes. Forget buying a digital photo frame: your iMac or MacBook does a better job! Another new feature we really like is full-screen mode, which takes up your entire display instead of using frames. A cool new feature in iPhoto 11 called Photo Stream lets you take a picture with an iPad or iPhone and have it automatically appear in iPhoto 11! The new version also makes it easier to e-mail or upload photos. Once you have all the photos imported, you can create albums and slideshows that act like movies, and share them with others easily. The interface lets you quickly upload photos from attached devices, open folders of images, or grab photos from other sources. If the computer’s running Mac OS X 10.10.3 or newer, you can instead use Photos. You can then open the photos one by one, copy them, or do what you like with each picture. If your computer shipped with 10.7 or newer or you got it from the Mac App Store, log into the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID, click on the Purchases tab, and redownload it from there. Click on a year, then a month, and you will see all the pictures from your iPhoto library from that month. Now you will see a new folder with a lot of years. Find the one called ‘Originals’ and click on it. Instead, if you hold down the control key while you click, you will see an option called ‘Show Package Contents.’ Click on this. Don’t do this, but if you were to click it then it would try to open in iPhoto, or Photos. If you have used iPhoto, then in the ‘Pictures’ folder there will be a file called ‘iPhoto Library’. If you go to your home directory, there is a folder called ‘Pictures’ where Apple stores all your photos.

When I tried to open the iPhoto library with the newer Photos App, it wanted to upgrade the entire iPhoto library. I was in the process of preparing to move my computer data on my 2012 MacBook Pro (which refuses to backup) to a new computer and the library updated without. iPhoto overview Note: This is a legacy application. Recently I was trying to access some photo’s from my Mum’s iPhoto library on her time machine backup, but my computer doesn’t have iPhoto, it has Photos App.
